This workshop offers an existential framework for understanding moral injury as a form of relational trauma that extends beyond neurobiological effects to impact identity, dignity, belonging, and meaning.
Moral injury arises from interpersonal or collective experiences of betrayal, gaslighting, dishonesty, scapegoating, or weaponized relational dynamics, as well as from situations in which individuals are compelled to act against their moral conscience and contribute to foreseeable harm (e.g., in military or healthcare settings).
Using case studies and clinical vignettes, participants will learn to recognize moral injury as distinct from other forms of trauma and to therapeutically engage individuals in restoring personal dignity, relational safety, and a sense of belonging.
Continuing Education Credits: 12 hours, CECs available upon request
Participants will be provided a certificate of completion at the end of the workshop. Click here to fill out our registration form or email at hello@cieal.ca for more information.
