Foundations of Existential Therapy

If you’re curious about existential therapy and what it looks like to practice it as an approach to therapy, then this workshop is a great way to dip your toes and see if it’s the right fit for you.

There are different schools of existential therapy that each have their own unique approach, but they do share some key principles and skills that we will cover in this workshop. We will focus specifically on the main method of phenomenology: what it is and how to implement the key skills involved in phenomenology including how to be more present and curious with clients to gain deeper understanding of their lived experience. On the second day, we introduce a specific type of phenomenological practice called Personal Existential Analysis (PEA), which comes from the Viennese school of Existential Analysis and Logotherapy. Through teaching and demonstration, we will go through PEA step-by-step so that you can apply it in your work with clients.

Continuing Education Credits: 12 hours, CECs available upon request.
Participants will be provided a certificate of completion at the end of the workshop. Click here to fill out the registration form or email at hello@cieal.ca.
